The announcement was made by the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Prakash Javadekar at the Visitor’s conference in New Delhi.
Stating that this will have a major impact on the research and innovation in the country, the minister said that under the IMPRINT-II, a fund is being created by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and MHRD together, in which participation will come from the industry and other interested ministries.
The project will be run as a separate vertical in coordination with the DST. Professor Indranil Manna of IIT-Kharagpur will be the national coordinator. The proposals for IMPRINT-II will be called from March 16, 2018 and will be sanctioned by May this year.
